Important ceremonial VIP presentation set:
Commemorating the transfer of The Hudsons Bay Companys post York Factory, as a National Historic Site to The Government of Canada, on July 11, 1968.
Extremely scarce VIP boxed set with:
-Original hand crafted,& branded wooden box of issue
-Presentation sheet with date
-16.5 inch x 22.5 inch A DESIGN for BUILDING a COMMODIOUS FORT
-16.5 inch x 22.5 inch A NEW MAP of HUDSONS BAY and LABRADOR from the late surveys of those coasts.
-A COMMODIOUS FORT portfolio with Ten lithographs
1. York Factory 1853
2. York Fort America 1715 manifest
3. Christmas dance at bachelors hall York Factory
4. French bombardment of York Factory 1697
5. Captain Henry Bishop, who commanded The Prince Rupert(VII)
on the York Factory run from 1865 to 1873
6. The annual ship at York Factory, 1880
7. King George (II), Seahorse (II)center) and Prince Rupert(IV)
at Gravesend, England 1769. These ships sailed to York Factory
in the 1770s.
8. York Factory June 1797
9. The depot, erected in the 1830s and 1840s is the only remaining
building of Old York Factory.
10. Trading room in York Factory in the 1840s.
All of the above, as listed, is the complete contents issued in this wooden boxed York Factory set.
All of the contents, and box, are in excellent near Mint condition, and as such is extremely scarce.
This set is from the collection of the second last Head Factor,(John Campbell Warren), of The Hudsons Bay Fort, York Factory in Manitoba.
A collection we purchased several years ago from his wife, and daughter.
Complete set, in excellent condition, and the only set, as such, that we have ever seen offered for sale.
