Both the Library of Parliament and the coin’s rim are richly gold-plated, while the obverse showcases the original Arnold Machin portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with tiara and mantle in gold.
Only 2,500 of these coins were issued, each measuring a bold 50 mm in diameter—double the weight and size of the vintage crown-dollar—and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint case with certificate.
