1. ORIGINAL 1965 Letter to Charles Schultz requesting information and answers to questions for The Independent Report: An Analysis of The Comic strip Peanuts

-Charles Schultz signed and returned this letter with 3-pages of notations about PEANUTS history, and his reasoning for the script story line and characters.

Upon returning the above letter Charles Schultz also sent a Signed Snoopy Drawing on the inside cover of his book Two-by-Fours First Edition 1965 for presentation to Barry by his school.

Barry Young was 8-years old when he became a Peanuts fan. His father was a Ford dealer in California when Peanuts promoted Ford. Thus the additional related Peanuts ephemera in this lot. Barry Young a Grade 10 student at the time wrote a 3-page letter to Charles Schultz requesting information he could include in his report The effects of The Peanuts Comic Strip on the Outside World. Charles Schultz returned the letter to Barry with 3-pages of annotated answers as well as signing Barrys letter along with his regards. Charles Schultz also sent for Barrys school award, a first edition copy of his book TWO-BY-FOURS with a large hand drawing of SNOOPY on the inside cover and the following note: For Barrie with every best wish signed Charles M Schultz. This same book was presented to Barry Young by the Principle and Vice Principal of his school as noted by their signatures and note on the first page- Presented to Barry Young for his outstanding work in The Independent research program. May 17,1966 Montclair School.
