Baleen handle with silver ends in choice condition

A Beautiful ladle that screws together with strong structural integrity all in near mint condition.

Provenance- Hand written note from the early 1800s stating:

As a punch ladle it represents The West Indies where it first saw service. My Grandmother was Miss _____ Lewis Odell a daughter of one of the first planters in Jamaica. She married my G-father George Hough, who soon afterwards became so disgusted with slavery, that they left, and settled in Wales from where he corresponded the famous abolitionists of the day, Granville Sharp, Clarkson and _____ doubtless had the happiness of helping to roll forward the Grand movement, but of course lost much worldly wealth by it. My mothers initials are on the handle as it was a gift to her and she was ____ Odell Hough, your g.g.____ first born of first born.
